It’s been around five months since I first announced my retirement from field ministry and my role as your Senior Minister at Unity on the Bay. I now have only just a few months remaining before I make my move back to Kansas City, Missouri, to be with my family and explore the next chapter of my life. Time might just be a mental construct but it sure does seem real - and fast!
During my 16 years of serving this community as your Senior Minister (and now as Co-Senior Minister with Rev. Juan), one of the greatest gifts I’ve received are the deep and meaningful relationships. Because of this, I want to make sure you have these important dates so that I can see you before I depart.
Homecoming Retreat at Unity Village (Aug. 18-21)
I’ll be attending our first ever Unity Village retreat alongside Revs. Juan and Ana, and 40+ other individuals from our community. Unity Village was my former workplace for 26 years before entering field ministry in South Florida. I’d really love to see you there. Enrollment for the retreat is closing tomorrow, August 3. Sunday Celebrations (Aug. 28, Sept. 11 and Sept. 25)
I have three remaining Sunday Celebration talks. When I first announced my retirement I had planned on my last Sunday talk to be mid-October however after further retirement planning I realized I had to move the date up by a few weeks. My final Sunday talk will now be on Sunday, September 25 at 11:15am Eastern and instead of the usual two Sunday Celebrations, there will be one service with a special fellowship event that follows. We will be hosting this service and fellowship event at the Little Haiti Cultural Center in Miami, FL on September 25 at 11:15am. There will be an online viewing option as well.
It has been my honor and privilege to serve you and this spiritual community. As I prepare to move into this next chapter of my life, I want you to know that I feel your love and prayers every step of the way. Thank you.
