Rev. Juan del Hierro
Senior Minister

Rev. Juan has made Unity on the Bay one of the most well regarded progressive spiritual communities in Florida, involving it in issues such as homelessness, child poverty, civic engagement and equality for the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community. He and his husband, Tom, along with their son, Lucas, were part of the lawsuit that brought marriage equality to Florida in January of 2015.

Rev. Juan has served on the Board of SAVE, the largest local LGBTQ rights organization and is past-Chair of Faith in the City, a coalition of Downtown Miami and surrounding area spiritual communities. His writings have been published by GLAAD and the Huffington Post. He has served the worldwide Unity Movement in a variety of capacities. He is currently on the Board of Directors of Unity World Headquarters, the home of the Unity Movement, which includes Silent Unity and Daily Word. He has led the Silent Unity Prayer Retreat and has been the keynote for many worldwide Unity events. He is also the Treasurer of Gold Treasure Coast Unity, our subregion.

In 2015 he received Congressional Recognition for his social justice work, along with SAVE’s Champion of Equality Award. In 2017 he was awarded the Local Hero Recognition at the Pink Flamingo Awards by a local chamber of commerce. Most recently he was honored by No More Tears, an organization that supports survivors of human trafficking and domestic abuse.

Rev. Juan is grateful for all that the Unity teachings have given him – an open heart, a peaceful mind, prosperity and purpose. His mission as a minister is to lead the world into knowing that we are blessed and we are a blessing.

Rev. Pam Gutierrez
Associate Minister

Pam holds a bachelor’s degree in chemistry from the University of Dallas, an MBA in International Business from Loyola University Maryland, and a Master of Divinity from Unity Worldwide Spiritual Institute. After a trailblazing career as one of the few women management consultants in the automotive industry, she desired balance in her life. She left the corporate world to practice Ayurveda and other holistic healing modalities. She paused her work healing others to be a stay at home mother of three. Her husband found Unity Church for Creative Living when they were looking for a spiritual home for their family in Jacksonville, FL in 2004.

In the ensuing decades, she founded a holistic medical practice with her husband, revolutionizing the delivery of primary care. She was honored as Volunteer of the Year in 2020 at Looking Glass Community Services in Eugene, OR for founding a spiritual education outreach for previously incarcerated youth. Rev Pam answered the call to ministry after serving as Board President and as Y.O.U. sponsor at Unity of the Valley in Eugene, OR. Prior to joining Unity on the Bay, she served as the Family Empowerment Minister and Operations Director at Unity of Central Florida in Orlando. She still strives for balance, and to be a model of ahimsa, non-violence, on this life journey.
